WASHINGTON MIGRANT AND ASYLUM SEEKER SUPPORT PROJECT

ABOUT WA MASS PROJECT

The Washington Migrant and Asylum-Seeker Support Project (WA MASS Project) is a new project that helps newly arrived immigrants and asylum seekers in Washington State connect to services.

The services are limited and free; they include legal assistance, case management, and housing. WA MASS Project services are provided by more than 20 organizations that work together to help immigrants in Washington with their legal case as well as to find a place to live, and learn to navigate different resources and services.

How it works

1 Determine if you are Eligible for WA MASS Project

Who can get help? You may be able to get WA MASS Project services if you:

  • Entered the US on or after January 1, 2022, and
  • Do not qualify for federal refugee services and benefits.

Learn more about eligibility requirements.

2 Meet with WA MASS Project Hub for an Intake (Virtually or In-Person)

During your intake, the Hub will determine if you are eligible for WA MASS Project services. If determined eligible, they will ask you questions to determine your needs and place you on a waitlist for referrals to services.

You can schedule an intake online, walk-in to a Hub office in Seattle or Spokane (no appointment needed) or leave a voicemail and we will call you to schedule an appointment.

3 Wait for Spoke Organization to Contact You

After the intake you will be referred to a spoke organization for services as these become available and based on your needs.

If you already finished your intake with the WA MASS Project Hub, you are on the WA MASS Project waitlist and will be contacted when services become available.

What is the WA MASS Project waitlist?

This is a list of eligible and enrolled participants who are waiting to be connected to services. A waitlist exists because services are limited and demand is high.

The waitlist is being monitored and managed by the WA MASS Project Hub. Referrals are made based on need and service availability. When a service provider has capacity, the WA MASS Project Hub will refer participants from the waitlist, and the spoke organization will contact those participants directly.

You do not need to request another appointment or complete another intake. If you already finished your intake, you are on the waitlist and will be contacted when services become available.
